Welcome to my new and returning readers. Thank you for liking, sharing, and subscribing. It is a pleasure to connect with you.
Let's explore something lovely and light-hearted today. Spirit says it is time to brighten things up a bit! I completely agree. Remember to call for your Halloween reading with one of the gifted psychics at Meet Your Psychic!
Moving into our first pandemic holiday season has quite a few of you feeling more than a little down. Let's have some fun, using our imaginations, cleverness, and optimism together.
Here are a few ideas to keep the holidays cheery for each holiday:
HAPPINESS DURING HALLOWEEN
While many communities are refraining from trick or treating, we can do our part to ensure our kids can still dress up and have a good time. If you have regular kids that come to your home, go to your local discount store and get some cute Halloween baskets or buckets. Fill them with age-appropriate toys and Halloween themed items. Give it to their parents and guardians before October 31st so they can receive it on Halloween night!
Write a small note saying that you will miss seeing them, but you wanted to let them know you love them. Send them a gift card for their favorite store: Mail a cute All Hallow's Eve card with a gift card for their favorite store or shop.
For the young kids: Have a Zoom reading session where you read aloud their favorite Halloween themed books. Get a stuffed animal for them they can hold as you read to them. Give this to their parents ahead of time as their special Story Corner friend.
Purchase a sugar skull kit, and decorate your Day of the Dead skulls for your loved ones. Leave them on their porches with a note sharing how much you love them. Make them playful and fun with bright colors and adorned with candy. You are sure to be the Halloween hit with family and friends.
TIPS FOR A THANKFUL THANKSGIVING
Gather up the fallen leaves (if you have them), and allow them to dry flat. You can do this by pressing them in an old dictionary. After they have dried and are still supple, spray them with matte clear coat spray. Please do so outside and with a mask on to stay safe from the fumes. Allow drying fully.
Take a permanent marker and write on each leaf their name and why you are grateful for them. Send this in a small box in the mail, or leave them on their porch with a notice, "to be opened on Thanksgiving." Bake some Thanksgiving-themed shaped cookies and decorate them with the names of the family that you are missing. Pack them in a Tupperware filled with plain popcorn, and send it to them or leave it for them on their front door. Popcorn keeps the cookies fresh, and they can eat the popcorn, too!
Have a Zoom holiday. Share your meals over live feed, say your prayers together, and offer thanks as if you were at the same gathering.
CELEBRATING HANUKKAH
Send a set of Hanukkah candles or a gift certificate to their favorite bakery where your friends or family can purchase their Challah. Perhaps some small wrapped Hanukkah gifts for the children and the Dreidel Game. Please take a picture of your own Hanukkah gathering, for each night in which you light a candle, and email or message it to your dear ones. Ask for pictures back, Share the light and the warmth even if you cannot be together.
TIPS FOR JOYOUS TIMES DURING CHRISTMAS
Send out a card with all of your Christmas favorite recipes, and ask the return of your friends and family. The holidays are such a prosperous time for family, friends, good food, sparkling lights, and cheery hellos. Make a small homemade magnet to go into each card with a family photo. Make an ornament with a family photo inside to grace the tree. Most discount stores carry clear, DIY decorations. This is an excellent activity for the entire family. I did this last year with my grandnieces, and it was a hit! There are thousands of ways to say I love you, and I miss you. Rather than be discouraged by your loved ones' disconnection, make this a year to remember with your creative reminder that they are loved, missed, and cherished.
LET'S GET CREATIVE!
Thank you for our time together. You are amazing! I love you, and I believe in you!
