Sometimes on Valentines day, when this day is supposed to be filled with joy and laughter and in the arms of a partner, we find ourselves single and alone. This does not mean however, that we should be sad or dwell on past lovers or to be wishing that we were with someone. Love is infinite and comes from all directions whether it be from our kids, our family, our siblings, roommates, friends, and even our pets! The important thing to remember is when we are positive and love unconditionally, the universe will return us the love we want to feel. Love is not limited for couples only and although in today's world Valentine's Day is celebrated by couples, let's spread our love around our friends and family as well. It must however start with loving yourself first! What you send out comes back to you! Here's a meditation to help you feel better about yourself on Valentine's Day. Enjoy!
First draw a nice, warm bath. Perhaps you would like to send it with jasmine oil, or rose oil. Both scents promote love and help you to relax. Light a candle, preferably pink, but white is good too. Perhaps you would also like to play some soft, relaxing music in the background. Start by simply relaxing and focus on your breathing. As you breathe deeply, imagine or feel a beautiful pink light at the top of your head. As you breathe, imagine this light slowly encompassing your body. As this beautiful pink light surrounds you in a cocoon of light, you are reminded that you are a beautiful being of light, and that you are filled with infinite love and power. You know that you are loved by the ones you love, and you love yourself truly. As you continue to relax, breathe in the beautiful aroma that surrounds you and the beautiful protective light that encompasses you. Repeat these simple affirmations to yourself:
I am full of love, loving and healing myself on all levels; spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental.
I love and accept my body completely.
I am perfectly balanced within myself, in my heart, and with the Earth.
I deserve to love myself and be loved.
I deserve to be healthy and feel good.
It is perfectly natural to feel good.
Now, take a few moments to imagine yourself feeling wonderful and feeling loved by you and the people who are important in your life. Continue to relax as you slowly come back to your physical senses. Open your eyes and enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!
