7 Signs Grief Has Manifested In Your Body

Losing a loved one impacts our physical health as well as our mental and emotional wellbeing. The effects can be lifelong, but you can mitigate the damage by taking action while you are healing through your grief. Grief most likely will become a part of you, so one way to reframe it is to see how it transforms you rather than define yourself by the loss itself. Welcome it into your life as a part of unconditional love and your soul's evolution.

The process will not be easy as you will go through many stages, go back and forth, and the challenges will be different for each loss you experience in life. Grief is a normal part of life, but how our body and mind process it is unique to us and our established relationships.

Your body will react to grief. The part of your body that held emotional memory to the individual you've lost will feel the after effect. The best thing you can do for yourself is to honor the space your body needs to adapt to the change and respect your emotional flow as it comes and goes.

Lack of sleep

We often lack sleep right after a loved one has passed and can have it resurface during holidays and special occasions. This is for a few reasons. The first is that we use our dreams to help us process heavy emotions, and if we don't want to let go of these emotions, we will lose sleep as a form of resistance. If you feel you need more sleep, tell yourself that it's okay not to remember your dreams and to tread lightly so you may rest. You may find yourself getting better rest if you speak this aloud in the form of affirmations.

Headaches & Unexplained Body Aches

Because we are trying to process the trauma of the loss, our body will ache in various ways. Headaches are the most common response because that's where our subconscious mind is focused on trying to understand the new world we are experiencing. One way to compact headaches is to watch fictional movies, television shows, or read. Doing this will help you process heavy emotions in the back of your mind while allowing you to be distracted. It's okay to indulge in these activities when needed. One of art's most significant benefits is to help us heal.

Fatigue

If you feel tired in the morning or throughout your day, this may be a sign that grief has manifested in your body. Fatigue forces us to slow down literally. When you are in this state of distress, you may need to take a few days to recalibrate your mind and body. Oddly enough, the best thing you can do for fatigue is to take a brief walk once a day. Nature will help restore your body's lack of energy, and walking on a path, especially in a park, allows you to process your thoughts and feelings in a proactive way. A brief walk will also help move the stagnant energy out of your body and mind.

Apathy

How does apathy affect your mind and body? It involves the tone of your voice and your body language. Apathy unfolds from the body like a discarded trail of debris from a broken trash bag. It leaks out, but you pretend not to notice it and do little to clean it up. Most psychics will see this in your energy field, and you will need an energy healing to clear this up. Reiki and focusing on healing your heart chakra is the best exercise for combating this issue.

Spacey

Otherwise known as dissociation, you will feel not fully grounded or in your body. If you're spacey a lot of the time while grieving, it may be because you unconsciously are trying to work with your higher self and guides while you go about your day or that you've been dream-walking in the spiritual realm. The only way to handle this is to form a regular meditation practice. Too much dissociation can cause permanent damage to your psyche. Spend time grounding yourself every morning and evening before you sleep at night.

Loss of Appetite

Sometimes when we lack our loved ones, we will punish ourselves by experiencing a sense of lack. Eating is one way we either feed or starve ourselves from emotional pain. Foods that remind you of your loved one may lose interest for you to the point of nausea. You may also feel the opposite effect and only crave the foods that remind you of them. Start a daily journal of your eating habits and be mindful of the emotions attached to them. This will help give you the insights you need to work through these issues, so it doesn't develop into long-lasting health problems.

Nausea

We can experience nausea when we remember painful memories. It can be related to food and smells but can also be related to seeing places we'd frequent or events similar to shared memories with your deceased loved one. This is the most complex one to handle as it typically comes from a place of negative attachment. Your best bet is to work with your higher self consciously to lessen the ties or cut them entirely with what is connected to your nausea. A psychic medium may also be able to offer your insights and assistance on this.
