Tarot Readings Vs. Psychic Readings: Which One Is Right For You?
"I don't want you to use tarot."
"Do you use tarot? Because I don't believe in tarot."
"Please, don't use any cards for my reading."
If you have found yourself saying some of these things to a psychic reader, you're not at all alone. Hollywood and a long line of unscrupulous charlatans have given tarot readings a bad name with many people. After all, anyone, intuitive or not, can buy a deck and definition book and shuffle a few cards. A few faiths also teach directly against using tarot cards or any other form of divination. Some people have also been told that a true psychic doesn't need cards to read.
Interestingly, though, tarot readings continue to be a subject of on-going curiosity. So what are the differences between a psychic reading and a tarot reading? Are they, in fact, different from each other? Most importantly, which one is best for you to help find the guidance you need?
As a tarot card reader and an intuitive both, I can personally admit that I find tarot cards sometimes helpful and sometimes not. The reality is that no method of reading will work for every reader or ever client. The main difference between a psychic reading and a tarot reading is not the use of cards, it's the mindset and the questions being asked. Tarot is full of symbols and stories which make a tapestry of metaphors for the questions that are asked to it. However, tarot may not be right for everyone.
For example, if you have very specific questions that you would like to ask the angels or guides, tarot may not be the best choice for your reading. Clairaudient readers, like myself and many others on Meet Your Psychic, can ask your questions to the guides directly and often receive a verbal answer.
However, maybe you have a more generalized question, and would just like to get an overview of the situation. Tarot reading cards are handy. They can help both you and the reader get a general sense of the energies that are coming into your life through a certain situation.
One more difference between regular intuitive reading and a tarot reading is that tarot cannot stand alone. It must be backed up with natural instincts and the advice of the intelligence that guides the reader. A psychic reading can sometimes stand alone. However, it may lack the extra information that can be gained through tarot.
Depending on the reader, tarot intuitive readings may be slightly slower-paced than other psychic readings. Tarot cards take only moments to layout but having the cards there does help to keep the reader's and your mind on track and help you explore the question very well.
The most important thing to keep in mind however is that tarot cards are nothing more than one more way that the guides communicate with a psychic intuitive. Some readers do not connect at all with tarot, others find that it clarifies their visions and improves their ability to see details.
When you are selecting between a tool-less psychic reading and a tarot reading, you should consider if you trust the reader to be honest and ethical or not. Trust is an essential element of any reading. If you don't feel instinctively that your selected reader is trustworthy then its better to wait and find a reader that you feel you can trust.
Tarot readings and psychic readings are both worthwhile, but trust your own intuition when selecting which one is right for you.
