Get up and Go! Move forward. Set a goal. Words to Motivate? Absolutely, but not always so easy to get started.

I know I have had plenty of times my "get up and go" "got up and went" - without me! As for moving forward, too fast, I might add, I stumbled over my own feet and that goal setting thing? Well, it seems I kept moving my goals...so my goal became finding my goals. Hence, I sought to grasp the realistic understandings of what I call the "motivation factors."

Motivation is what causes us to DO, and when we DO, quite merely we start...we move, we grow and change.

As we start to feel more involved in our own lives, pursuits, loving what we do, and doing what we love... exploring a change or even better realizing how we bring about change, we discover and embrace a sense of purpose and happiness.

One of the biggest challenges in meeting any goal, whether it be related to productivity, waking early, changing a habit, exercising, or just becoming happier, is finding the motivation to stick with it. If you can stick with a goal for long enough, you'll almost always get there eventually. It just takes patience, and yep, motivation. Overcoming some bumps, changing ways of thinking, accepting that a different direction or approach is more successful all aides in perseverance and self-motivation.

My Motivation Factors...aka a few helpful tips that I have benefited from.

Baby Steps: Whatever your goal or task, planning it in small steps assists with focus. When you complete one level, move on to the next, give it all "ya got," and move to the next...and so on. The small achievements keep motivation up, and before long, more will be done then you could have imagined.

Planning: Visualize your day's goals before you "get too deep" into your day. Of course, we can't plan for everything, but we can expect to be well prepared throughout the day with a good sense of humor and a positive outlook. By pre-planning, motivation is ignited as we look toward new circumstances in which we can put forth energy toward our goals or even adjust as needed.

Exercise: We need to stretch, get physically moving. Any activity, from jumping jacks to a walk, gets the "blood moving" and releases those beautiful endorphins that stimulate the brain to work and create ideas.

Educate Self: Learning, and educating ourselves about whatever our goals or hopes might motivate us. Knowledge is power, and anytime we feel as though we understand something better or are more enlightened in relationship to it, we promote from within a motivational feeling to conquer any hurdle in our path.

Motivation Factors? Mark Twain said it best... "The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into smaller, manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one."
