While it might not feel like it at the start, this year is operating on an accelerated pace, with Jupiter rushing the wind down of your current 12 year Jupiter cycle of expansion, something that will normally take a full 12 months. Jupiter only returned to Pisces in the closing days of 2023, the last stop before returning to Aries. Here Jupiter will normally spend 12 months. Instead, Jupiter will return to Aries on 11th May, beginning a new 12 year Jupiter cycle of expansion and in the process, opening major new doors. This will come just a few weeks after the Sun leaves, wrapping up your birthday month and the launch of your new solar year on 20th April. From there it will be a short step up to a new Jupiter cycle.

However, Jupiter won’t be on his own with Venus, held back by her retrograde phase in your career sector returning on 3rd May and Mars, your ruling planet returning on 15th May. Both will return to support Jupiter’s return on 11th May, creating even more momentum. Before then, Jupiter will be closing old doors and joining dreamy Neptune in Pisces, you might spend the first four months of the year doing a lot of navel gazing, working on the dreams that you can turn into reality when Jupiter returns Aries. Meanwhile, a lot of things are coming together in January, including the lunar nodes’ return to your two money houses on 19th January.

This is the same day that Uranus turns direct in your income sector, something that gives income matters the green light in the early days of this new professional year. With the lunar nodes returning to your two money houses, where they will remain until July 2024, this is where the eclipses in 2024 will fall. There will be a solar eclipse in your income sector on 1st May, a total lunar eclipse here on 9th November, a total lunar eclipse in your financial sector on 16th May and a solar eclipse there on 25th October. The lunar nodes will also work to maintain a balance between money coming in and money going out. This is something that Venus and Mars will work to exploit until they both leave your career sector on 6th March.

Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of every year in your career sector, the solar spotlight will always be on your career and professional situation, matters and options as you move into each new professional year. However, it is not until the Sun leaves on 20th January that it will become clear that this is no ordinary start to the year, with things just heating up at the point when they are usually going off the boil. While it is not unusual to start the year with Venus in your career sector it is unusual for her to be in retrograde motion. Even Mercury who will leave your career sector on 2nd January will retrograde back in on 26th January. For most of January, it may appear that the brakes are on, giving a false impression that this will be a low energy year.

Instead, this is more a case of pushing the pause button as you wait for Mars’ return on 25th January. This is a day before Mercury retrogrades back in and four days before Venus turns direct on 29th January. With Mercury turning direct on 4th February, not leaving until 15th February and both Venus and Mars here until 6th March, it is towards the end of January and into February that things will really come alive. It is the Sun’s departure in January that is the point where Pluto, here from 2008 to 2024 takes over and moves things into maintenance mode but that won’t happen until March this year and not before giving this professional year a massive push.

Apart from a Full Moon in your career sector on 14th July, career matters will continue to tick over until Mercury returns on 7th December, Venus on 10th December and the Sun on 22nd December. This time Mars won’t be returning, with his time here from 25th January to 6th March more focused on getting this professional year up to speed than on bringing it home. It is Pluto that will keep the engines running in between. Unlike your career sector, there is no continuous planetary activity in your work sector and Mars won’t visit this year either. As he did in your career sector, Mercury will visit your work sector twice, first from 4th August to 26th August and again from 24th September to 11th August. The Sun will put the solar spotlight on work and job matters from 23rd August to 23rd September and Venus will work to attract opportunities from 5th September to 29th September.

While there is no planetary activity on the romantic or relationship fronts until the second half of the year, this takes away the pressure and allows you to focus on the journey. However, during the first half of the year, you won’t be on your own with the Moon returning to your romantic and relationship sectors every four weeks. It is during one of those visits that the Moon will create a Full Moon in your romantic sector on 17th February and in your relationship sector on 17th April. In both cases, halfway between the Sun’s last visit and the next, this will give both matters of the heart and your relationships a boost.

It is on the other side of these Full Moons that Venus will return to Aries from 3rd May to 29th May, something that gives you a chance to update your romantic and relationship desires and expectations for the coming year. This is something that will normally happen during your birthday month but is held back by a retrograde phase, Venus is late to return to Aries this year so is late to leave. However, this also narrows the gap between Venus’ departure and the first planetary activity on the romantic and relationship fronts for the years. As always, the spirit of romance will go first, beginning with Mercury’s return to your romantic sector on 20th July.

With the dwarf planet Ceres making her first visit in four years, her return from 24th July to 29th September will not only see planetary activity on the romantic front extend out for two months but will still be playing out when Mercury returns to your relationship sector on 26th August. The most active months of the year on the romantic front run from 20th July to 29th September and on the relationship front from 26th August to 30th October. In that time that Sun, Mercury and Venus will all move through with Venus making from 12th August to 5th September some of the most romantically charged weeks of the year and from 29th September to 23rd October some of the best on the relationship front.

While things might be fairly quiet on both sides of the financial fence at the start of the month, that will change within weeks. It was in December that Mars’ departure from your financial sector ended all planetary activity on that side of the financial fence until the Sun returns on 23rd October. However, as this was just a few weeks before moving into the New Year, this allows you to begin the year with the means and the motivation to stay on top of money matters. While this has seen all the focus shift onto the income side of the financial fence, with Uranus still in retrograde motion in your income sector there is unlikely to be any sign of movement or at least not at first.

This could lead you to believe that there is nothing to get excited about but nothing could be further from the truth. While the Sun and Mercury won’t return to your income sector until April and this is when the most lucrative months of any lunar year will usually begin, there is a sudden and significant sea change on 19th January. Within the space of just a few hours, first Uranus will turn direct in your income sector and then the North Node returns, for the first time in 17 years. As well as providing a sense of direction and momentum through to July 2024, this sets the scene for a series of eclipses. The first will be a solar eclipse on 1st May and a total lunar eclipse on 9th November. This also means that when Uranus turns direct and turns the lights green, there will be momentum from the start.

The period from Mercury’s return to your income sector from 11th April to Venus’ departure on 23rd June are still likely to be some of the most lucrative months of the year. However, there will be a second wave when Mars returns to wage war on glass ceilings from 5th July to 20th August. Meanwhile, while the South Node will move into your financial sector on 19th January as well and together the lunar nodes will work to maintain a balance between income and money matters through to July 2024, the majority of the planetary activity this year will be on the income side of the financial fence. Unlike the months of planetary activity on the income front and Uranus there all year, Mercury and Venus will both move through your financial sector during the Sun’s month long visit from 23rd October to 22nd November.
