Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of every year in Capricorn, you will always move into a new solar and calendar year at the same time. Because Venus and Mercury will always travel with the Sun though not always at the same time, starting the year with both here is not unusual but is a chance to start the year with heart and mind on the same page. What is unusual is the fact that Venus not only returned for what should have been a 24 day visit but begins the year in retrograde motion. Mercury, who will leave Capricorn on 2nd January is bitten by the same nostalgic bug and will retrograde back in on 26th January, three days before Venus’ direct turn on 29th January.

By then your birthday month will not only be over but with Venus and Mercury in retrograde motion, you will not only looking back but it might feel like you are waiting for something. That something is Mars’ who will return on 25th January, just a day before Mercury returns. Venus’ direct turn on 29th January and Mercury’s on 4th February will give everything the green light. While Mercury will leave on 15th February Venus and Mars will both stay on until 6th March, giving this year a massive head start. It is then that they will both return to your income sector, after the Sun has moved on but while Mercury is still here. Here they will meet up with Saturn and as the planets of money and passion, they will use his discipline and focus to exploit the income potential Jupiter created last year.

It is on 6th April that Venus will follow Jupiter into your communication sector, with Mars returning on 15th April to declare war on communication barriers for the first time in nearly two years. This comes just as Jupiter finally catches up with Jupiter, creating a rare coming together of the planets of luck, dreams, love and passion, all focused on all aspects of communication. Once they catch up with Jupiter Venus and Mars will be reluctant to let him go, with Venus returning to your home and family sector on 3rd May, just eight days ahead of Jupiter. Mars will return on 24th May, shifting this powerful alliance onto home, family and/or property matters. It is here that Jupiter will stay until 28th October before returning for a double dip visit to your communication sector, then returning again on 21st December where he will stay until May 2024.

This is one professional year that is destined to grow on you, with the professional gods leaving the best to last but also creating a year where the momentum and opportunities will progressively increase. However, this will see the year get off to a relatively quiet start, with the North Node’s departure from your work sector on 19th January not only ending all cosmic focus on work and job matters for the first time since early 2020 but taking away some constant pressure. Since May 2020 the lunar nodes have been policing how well you know when to keep your work hat on and when to take it off, something that you might not appreciate until it's gone. While the most active months on the job front don’t begin until April, the dwarf planet Ceres’ return on 9th February to 15th May will be a chance to once again review your needs and priorities on the job front.

Ceres had been doing this before retrograding back out at the end of last year, returning with a fresh perspective. This means that when Mercury returns to your work sector on 30th April you will begin this next chapter aware of your needs and priorities. This is early for Mercury to return, with the Sun not returning to put the solar spotlight on work and job matters until 21st May. It is a retrograde turn on 11th May that will not only keep Mercury here but will see him retrograde back out on 23rd May, only to return for a second visit from 14th June to 5th July. With the Sun here from 21st May to 21st June, Mercury will leave and return during his month long visit. This means that Mercury will still be here when held back by her own retrograde phase, Venus will finally return from 23rd June to 18th July.

However, yet again this will see the professional gods kicking the can down the street, with Mars’ return on 20th August ushering in a third wave of planetary activity on the job front, something that once again will be impacted by a retrograde phase. This time it is Mars’ retrograde turn on 31st October that will keep the warrior planet of the cosmos here until March 2024, turning what is normally a six week visit into an eight month stay. This will put Mars here when the Sun, Mercury and Venus move through your career sector, which they will do from 26th August to 30th October.

The fact that Venus, the planet of love will start and end the year in Capricorn is not unusual but in this case, it really is a sign that 2024 is destined to be a good year for love and all things romantic. Because the Sun will always begin and end the year in Capricorn and Venus will always be close by, means that this is not unusual though not guaranteed. However, normally this would be an advantage for a few days or weeks at most, but Venus will get the year off to a romantically charged start. Venus returned for what should have been a 24 day visit to your Capricorn in November but instead, a retrograde turn will keep her here until 6th March. What makes this auspicious is that you not only begin the year with Venus in retrograde motion in Capricorn but Uranus in retrograde motion in your romantic sector.

Uranus will turn direct on 19th January and the timing couldn’t be more auspicious, with the North Node returning to your romantic sector on the same day. In your romantic sector from 19th January 2024 to 18th July 2024, as well as giving matters of the heart a sense of direction opening new pathways, this sets the scene for a series of eclipses. The North Node is always focused on the future and returning on the same day that Uranus turns direct will make this a major turning point. Venus will turn direct on 29th January, keeping the doors open to the past and second chances for another 10 days. This will get the year off to a romantically charged start and it will stay that way.

Matters of the heart will get another boost when the faster moving planets move through your romantic sector, starting with Mercury’s return on 11th April and ending with Mars’ departure on 20th August. They won’t all be here at the same time, with a gap between Venus’ departure on 23rd June and Mars return on 5th July. However, this spreads things out in order to provide maximum coverage. Also giving matters of the heart a boost will be a solar eclipse on 1st May and a total lunar eclipse on 9th November. Meanwhile, while there is minimum planetary activity on the relationship front this year the Sun, Mercury and Venus will be doing their best to make their time here from 21st June to 12th August count.

Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion may have left your income sector in the closing days of 2023 but this will have an impact on this financial year in a way that isn’t usually the case. Jupiter returns to your income sector every 12 years and will spend around 12 months creating a sense of what’s possible, the potential for expansion and an opportunity to begin quests towards increasing your income potential. However, once Jupiter leaves it is up to you to maintain the momentum. As Jupiter left on 29th December and Mercury won’t return with the smart head for money needed to get your head in the game until 2nd January, this means you should start the year with no planetary activity in your income sector.

Instead, for the first time in six decades, Jupiter and Saturn returned to your income sector at the same time and while Jupiter is gone, Saturn is here until March 2024 and it is his discipline and focus that will help you follow through on what Jupiter has begun. If 2023 over promised and under delivered, this is a year that is likely to under promise but over deliver. Helping to exploit the income potential that Jupiter has created is an increase in planetary activity in the early months of the year. The Sun will always move through, shining the solar spotlight on your income situation, matters and options from 20th January to 19th February and while Mercury will leave on 19th January, he will return for a double dip visit from 15th February to 10th March.

It is during that second visit that you will encounter the most potentially lucrative weeks of 2024. It starts when Venus and Mars, the planets of money and passion return to your income sector on 6th March. Venus, held back by her retrograde phase in Capricorn is in your income sector until 6th April and Mars, making his first visit in nearly two years will fuel a drive to fight for what you deserve until leaving on 15th April. After that, Saturn will keep the momentum going. Meanwhile, on the other side of the financial fence, there is not only no continuous planetary activity but a much shorter period of focus when there is.
